The UIM XCAT World Championship 2024 starts with Fujairah Grand Prix

Fujairah International Marine Club (FIMC) is marking its silver jubilee with the announcement of the UIM XCAT World Championship Fujairah Grand Prix 2024, scheduled from March 1st to 3rd. The press conference, held at Al Bahar Hotel & Resort, was led by Mohammed Abdullah Harib, Executive Director of Dubai International Marine Sports Club, and Major Ahmed Ibrahim, Executive Director of Fujairah International Marine Club, alongside members of the press.

Ten boats will brave the challenging race course set amidst the rough seas of the Gulf of Oman for the opening round.

The GB team of Scott Williams and Martin Campbell, past XCAT Championship winners from outside the UAE, will vie for victory against nine other boats and top offshore drivers.

Dubai’s formidable Victory Team returns, represented by Salem Al Adidi and Eisa Al Ali, previous Championship winners in 2017.

Fresh off their 2023 Class 1 World Championship win, Darren Nicholson and Giovanni Carpitella will take on XCAT duties once more, while Fazza team’s Arif Al Zaffain and Nadir Bin Hendi remain strong contenders.

Expressing his joy at the club’s 25-year milestone, Major Ahmed highlighted FIMC’s commitment to marine activities, tourism, and community engagement, aiming to inspire new generations to embrace water sports.

Major Ahmed Ibrahim, Executive Director of Fujairah Marine Club, invited the community to partake in and support the thrilling water sports events planned throughout the season.
